Who doesn’t love when a big pan of pasta shows up at the table? This dish is packed with delicious flavors like fire-roasted tomatoes, Italian sausage, and of course, a generous helping of mozzarella and parmesan. We cook the noodles in the pan with the sauce, so the pasta comes together in just under an hour.
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Preheat skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
- Add olive oil and meat, then brown for about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and continue to cook 1 minute.
- Add fire-roasted tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, oregano, crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Stir well to combine.
- Add uncooked pasta and stir until well-coated.
- Add water and stir to combine, then bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer.
- Cover the skillet with aluminum foil and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes stirring occasionally. The pasta should be al dente.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in 2 cups shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and bake until cheese is melted and beginning to brown, about 5-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and garnish with parsley.
