This dish is packed with delicious flavors like fire-roasted tomatoes, Italian sausage, and of course, a generous helping of mozzarella and parmesan. We cook the noodles in the pan with the sauce, so the pasta comes together in just under an hour. Level Beginner Prep Time 10 minutes Cook Time 45 minutes Serves 4-6 Cook it With Our 15 Inch Dual Handle Skillet Ingredients 1 pound lean ground beef 1 pound spicy Italian sausage 6 cloves garlic, minced 1 28-ounce can fire-roasted diced tomatoes 2 tablespoons tomato paste 2 teaspoons sugar 1 tablespoon dried basil 2 teaspoons oregano ½ teaspoon red pepper 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon pepper 4 cups water 1 box (1 lb) uncooked ziti pasta 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided ¼ cup parmesan cheese, grated Parsley finely chopped, garnish Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Preheat skillet over medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Add olive oil and meat, then brown for about 5 minutes. Add garlic and continue to cook 1 minute. Add fire-roasted tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, oregano, crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine. Add uncooked pasta and stir until well-coated. Add water and stir to combine, then bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Cover the skillet with aluminum foil and simmer for 15 - 20 minutes stirring occasionally. The pasta should be al dente. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in 2 cups shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top and bake until cheese is melted and beginning to brown, about 5-10 minutes. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley.
