Make the Frittata of Your Dreams

  • Mar 30, 2023
  • In honor of April’s Recipe of the Month, we gathered a list of frittata ingredients to help you build your own. This is a very forgiving dish, so don’t be afraid to experiment with quantities and combinations that fit your taste. Whether you’re hitting the farmers’ market for summer produce or need a use-it-up recipe to clear out your fridge, a frittata will celebrate whichever ingredients you bring to the table.

    Protein

You’ll want to use cooked proteins in your frittata—diced or crumbled work best!

    • Cooked bacon
    • Cooked sausage
    • Cooked ham
    • Diced ham
    • Cooked chorizo
    • Diced smoked turkey
    • Diced Canadian bacon
    • Diced prosciutto
    • Diced cooked chicken
    • Diced cooked shrimp
    • Smoked salmon
    • Lump crab
    • Diced tofu

    Veggies

Just like your protein, you’ll want to use cooked or roasted veggies to reduce the amount of moisture.

    • Diced bell peppers
    • Diced onions
    • Sliced mushrooms
    • Diced tomatoes
    • Diced zucchini
    • Baby spinach
    • Roasted red peppers
    • Grilled asparagus
    • Diced butternut squash
    • Roasted garlic
    • Diced eggplant
    • Diced olives
    • Diced jalapeño
    • Sliced scallions

    Cheese

This might be our favorite part of the frittata! Some of our favorite combos? Parmesan and goat cheese or asiago and gouda. Go ahead, sprinkle in a little extra!

    • Shredded mozzarella
    • Crumbled feta
    • Grated Parmesan
    • Crumbled goat cheese
    • Shredded Gruyere
    • Shredded Swiss
    • Shredded pepper jack
    • Shredded provolone
    • Crumbled blue cheese
    • Crumbled cotija cheese
    • Shredded fontina
    • Shredded Asiago
    • Shredded Manchego
    • Shredded Gouda

    Herbs and spices

Add a pinch of your favorites! If you’re having trouble choosing, think about what will pair nicely with your veggies and cheese. During the summer we love to use fresh tomatoes and basil. And if we’re using feta, we always reach for the dill.

    • Fresh rosemary
    • Fresh thyme
    • Fresh chives
    • Fresh dill
    • Dried thyme
    • Fresh basil
    • Fresh parsley
    • Dried oregano
    • Paprika
    • Garlic powder
    • Onion powder
    • Smoked paprika
    • Cayenne pepper
    • Red pepper flakes
    • Turmeric
    • Cumin
