Whether you need a sweet pick-me-up or the perfect birthday treat, these simple vanilla cupcakes are just what you’re looking for. Plus, it’s a great recipe to get the kids involved with the baking fun. The hard part? Finding the perfect sprinkles to top them off!
          Directions

        - Preheat oven to 350° F.
 - Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
 - Using a hand mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. Then, beat in egg and vanilla.
 - Reduce the speed of the mixer to low and add dry mixture, a little at a time, with milk, until batter comes together. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
 - Place cupcake liners in the wells of a cast iron muffin pan. Fill the liners 2/3 of the way full with batter.
 - Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
 - While the cupcakes bake, prepare the frosting. Cream butter in a mixing bowl fitted with the paddle attachment.
 - Gradually beat in powdered sugar until fully incorporated.
 - Beat in vanilla extract and salt. Add milk a little at a time until the frosting reaches preferred consistency. Set aside.
 - Place on a wire rack and let cool completely before frosting.
