Expansion
We are excited to announce construction of our new cast iron foundry and a new warehouse: Our largest expansion since 1896!
In January 2015 the company completed the largest foundry expansion in our history, increasing production capacity by 50%. However, at 120 years, we continue to enjoy strong consumer demand in the U.S. and international markets, which necessitates the new foundry.
The new 127,000 square-foot foundry will have two production lines, increasing our manufacturing capacity by 75%. The new foundry will include a melt center, sand system and two sand cast molding machines. Lodge expects to add 92 additional employees to our current level of 300 workers when the new foundry is completed in June 2017. Located across the Tennessee River from South Pittsburg, the new 212,000-square foot warehouse has a March 2017 completion date.
