Second Lodge Foundry Now in Production

By: Lodge Cast Iron / December 4, 2017

Operations in our second Tennessee foundry are now underway! The new 127,000 square foot facility is located just a few blocks from our original foundry in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, Lodge's hometown since 1896.

Second Lodge Foundry Now in Production

We broke ground on this facility in mid-2016 and had our first production run there on November 20, 2017. This foundry does not replace our first foundry, but will operate alongside it to increase our capacity.

The new foundry, nicknamed the 3rd Street Foundry, includes a melt center with two induction furnaces, a sand system, and two sand molding machines. The foundry increases our manufacturing capacity by 75%.

Lodge Cast Iron was founded in South Pittsburg, Tennessee in 1896 by Joseph Lodge and has produced American-made cast iron cookware in the same location for over 121 years. We're proud to carry on the legacy of our founder and make heirloom-quality cast iron cookware in the USA.

You can watch a behind-the scenes video of how we make cast iron cookware in our Tennessee foundry here.
